D01: GRAN SASSO Arrive in the L’Aquila area and check into your hotel. In the mid-morning, transfer to the National Park of Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga, home to the Corno Grande. Drive up to the high-altitude plateau of Campo Imperatore, known as the "Little Tibet." Enjoy a walk across the plateau and visit the small church of Madonna della Neve. In the afternoon, visit the magnificent medieval fortress of Rocca Calascio and the nearby restored borgo of Santo Stefano di Sessanio. Enjoy a traditional dinner in a local trattoria in the evening. Overnight in L'Aquila. |

D02: THE MAJELLA After an Abruzzese breakfast, head to the National Park of the Majella to explore its spiritual sites. Visit the rock-carved eremi (hermitages) and the extraordinary natural spectacle of the Grotte del Cavallone. In the afternoon, hike from the hermitage of San Bartolomeo in Legio to the Eremo di Santo Spirito a Majella. Conclude the day with a stroll and dinner in the charming, medieval city of Sulmona, the "City of Confetti." Overnight in L'Aquila.

D03: THE LAKE OF SCANNO AND ANCIENT TRADITIONS Spend the morning visiting Scanno, one of the world's most famous medieval villages, known for its preserved architecture and traditional Abruzzese life. Enjoy the view overlooking the enchanting, heart-shaped Lake of Scanno. Afterward, head up the Passo Godi for panoramic mountain views and to witness the ancient practice of transhumance (weather permitting). In the late afternoon/early evening, transfer to the coast. Overnight in Ortona. |

D04: THE TRABOCCHI COAST AND ORTONA Start the day by exploring the unique Costa dei Trabocchi, known for its ancient fishing machines. Walk or bike along the Via Verde coastal path. If the weather permits, enjoy a swim at one of the lovely beaches. Spend the afternoon in the historic town of Ortona, visiting its charming alleys and impressive Aragonese castle. Choose between a boat tour, exploring hidden coves, or visiting Vittoria beach. Dinner will be a fresh fish-based meal on a trabocco. Overnight in Ortona.

D05: VASTO Explore the historic center of Vasto (ancient Roman city of Histonium), visiting the Castello Caldoresco, the panoramic Loggia Amblingh, the Cathedral of San Giuseppe, and the Palazzo d'Avalos museum. After lunch, delve into Roman heritage by heading inland to the archaeological area of Juvanum, a significant Roman settlement with a theater and forum. Before returning, choose to visit a local winery for a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo tasting or an olive oil mill. Overnight in Vasto.

D06: PESCARA AND DEPARTURE Spend the morning visiting Pescara, the modern capital of Abruzzo, exploring its dynamic character, seaside atmosphere, and cultural heritage. In the afternoon, transfer by bus to the airport for your safe journey home.
