DEAF ACCESSIBLE TOURISM
Deaf Accessible Tourism (DAT) is an innovative Tour Operator and DMC based in Italy. Our purpose is to connect Deaf individuals from every corner of the globe, ensuring a fully accessible, barrier-free travel experience across Europe (the Old Continent).
Whether you prefer to use sign language or are accustomed to lip-reading and communicating orally, we will provide you with all the necessary tools and patient tour guides to ensure you have a wonderful, barrier-free journey!
Deaf travelers who communicate via signing can be supported by tour guides (whether deaf or hearing) who are proficient in sign languages, such as International Sign (IS) or ASL. For travelers who rely on lip-reading or residual hearing, our guides prioritize clear, face-to-face communication and, if possible, provide supplemental written materials to ensure no detail is missed.
Upon request, speech-to-text technology will be used to provide continuous, simultaneous translation of spoken language into written text.
We would be happy to show you the main beauties of Italy, the country with the highest number of UNESCO World Heritage sites. If you desire, we can also explore the most stunning cities and places in Europe.
However, we can also arrange tours in authentic Italian Regions considered hidden gems. These regions are very diverse, each with its own unique history, gastronomic delights, and culture. A visit to these areas is a truly memorable experience.
Whether you decide to travel independently or with loved ones, we can help you tailor itineraries and support you before, during, and after your journey!
